Issi Noho written by Keith Chatfield

"Isis Noho" was written by the brilliant Keith Chatfield who was also the author of the wonderful "Hattytown Tales." Issi Noho was the name given to a small panda who arrived in a large crate with the words "THIS SIDE UP, USE NO HOOKS" on the side. The crate was destined for a zoo after travelling all the way from China, but somehow fell off the back of a truck. The Panda was first discovered in Coppins Woods by the children as they were playing. At first no one knew his name. However, several of the letters on the side of the crate were covered up and the name on the crate read "thIS SIde up........use NO HOoks. Issi Noho was no ordinary Panda though. He had magical powers given to him whenever he used his magic square cards and said the correct rhyming words. He did have a small problem, in order to make some of the magic work correctly he often had to say a rhyme and/or work out the numbers. Issi Noho was not very good at this and as a result, his magic often went astray. Issi stayed with the Martin family after he met Andrew and Sally one day. They all knew he could work magic and would always take part in his little adventures. Issi kept the magic squares around his neck in a small pouch gifted to him by his father.

The program was first shown on ITV back in 1974-1979. Each episode lasted approximately 10 minutes and was made by Thames television productions. Apologies for the lack of images but I did not have much to work with.
